UPDATE: Arrest made for Michael Edward Bentley and Leah Nichole Wilson

The Kannapolis Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating Michael Edward Bentley and Leah Nichole Wilson (AKA Leah Bentley) in connection to a drug overdose in Kannapolis. Bentley and Wilson provided heroin to a female, which caused her to overdose. As the female began experiencing a medical emergency, her 11-year-old daughter attempted to call 911. Wilson then took the phone from the child to prevent her from summoning help. The child was able to regain control of the phone and call 911. Bentley and Wilson left the scene, leaving the child alone with her unconscious mother and one year old sibling. Bentley has active warrants for Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Heroin, Deliver Heroin, and Contributing to the Neglect of a Juvenile. Wilson has active warrants for Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Heroin, Deliver Heroin, Contributing to the Neglect of a Juvenile, and Interfering with Emergency Communication.
